What's causing this? I've decided it is the snow. I'm cooped up in the house (at least it feels that way) and the kids are cooped up here with me. As fun as it is to have them with me to play cards, etc., they have energy that they can't expend and end up being a little testy due to not being able to burn off that energy outdoors, which in turn makes me testy, etc. Not a good combination.
In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, we have the cabin, boat, and other stuff to keep us occupied and we get to burn some of the energy off and have calm, wonderful interactions when we are at home. This simply doesn't work for us in the winter. I'm sure it is because I am anti-winter and the kids can sense that from me, but since I'm to blame, I won't elaborate further....
Nevertheless, we had a good week. Since we went shopping last Sunday, we had a nice relaxing MLK, Jr Day. The days there is nothing to do are sometimes the best! Staying in your jammies all day is NOT a bad thing AT ALL!
Tuesday was back to the grind. Work, School, household chores kept us busy enough. So did those below freezing temperatures.
Wednesday was a work-from-home day for me, so I was a little more pleasant even though it was cold and snowy. I made homemade Mac ' n Cheese to go with dinner and I instantly became the kids' heroine! Yea for me!
Also, Wednesday night I taught the kids how to play Spades. That was a lot of fun. We need some serious work on bidding and not sandbagging, but everything else was great! I love to play cards and seeing my kidos start to get it is always exciting for me!
Also this week, we discussed our June vacation to Gatlinburg! The kids are so excited to be with family and cousins in Tennessee and are looking forward to a place they've never been before, as well are Jack and I.
So, I'm sure this is the most boring blog post you've read to date, but the intent is to bring you up to date. It is also to promise to you that I will be better about blogging (regardless of the weather) and continue to post pictures of the kids here for you, because that's what it is all about right? Checking in on what the Heart, Star, and Moon are up to right?
Since I wrote that, I'll give you a photo that I love of each of the kids. Here you go, and Enjoy!
All taken 2-5-05, all aged 8.
