We had beautiful scenery outside. This is Thanksgiving morning with frozen dew on the ground and trees. Unfortunately we had a crack in the hot water heater and cracks in the plumbing to the shower. We're not sure if we had more because obviously it was time to shut the water off upon discovering those problems! There was even a block of ice in the toilet! No damage to the toilet though. We were smart enough to bring water with us and the outside hose was still working. And.... we had propane. You get the drift, we had hot water. That was enough for a nice Thanksgiving Dinner.
So, for those of you that have had Thanksgiving with me before you already know that we forgot the rolls, otherwise we had everything else. We decided that since it would just be the two of us, we'd just have cornish hens instead of Turkey. When it was time for supper we sat down and everything looked wonderful...and everything was with the exception of the hens. They were undercooked. We decided to put those back in and have sides. Then we got full. As of right now we still haven't had any of the cornish hens! Oh well, all and all it was a nice trip for the two of us.
We also found this which brought back a funny memory.

One of the things the kids do at the cabin is catch frogs, crawdads, bugs, etc. The above is a last will and testament that Samantha wrote for a grasshopper Paige caught that Corey decided to kill. It wasn't out of cruelty, it was an accident, but Paige was very upset about it. Corey wasn't that remorseful and apparently Samantha felt enough sympathy to compose a will for poor Hopper Hop Jr. They crack me up! This is more of a eulogy than a will, but she tried!

sometimes it just nice to get away, just the two of you. It sounds like you both made the most of everyting.
