Looking back...

I spent some time last night and today looking back at all the photos I've taken since I entered the digital age in 2004 with the camera I have. How wonderful it is to have all these photos accessible with the simple click of a mouse instead of digging out some shoe box full of photos and still not finding what you're looking for. Anyway, I'm digressing. I think I was feeling a bit nostalgic knowing that today is Adam's 17th Birthday and it was nice to see photos of him smiling and enjoying life as he always did. That's when it occurred to me that I should do something here on the blog to share some of the "older" photos occasionally. The photos that weren't so memorable when I took them, but are so important now realizing that the kids are growing up and they'll never be that small again. Or simply using them when the kids have had enough of me snapping photos of them when they're trying to eat. The quotes are rolling in, "Uh mom, can I finish eating before you take any more pictures?" Anyway, some days there isn't a new photo to share, but a great old photo that grows on you over time. So, you might start seeing a little of that here from now on in addition to the new ones of the kids wishing I'd stop taking their picture ALL THE TIME.

So the first of many "old" photos that I hope you'll like!

Taken 6-18-06. I wonder what he's thinking about? By the look on his face this is the most interesting rock he's ever seen. This picture is obviously a complete accident, but the color of the grass and the shadows just frame him squatting there pondering that rock perfectly.

Taken 8-27-06. I don't know who took the photo so I'm not sure who she's making "kissy face" at, but you can tell she's enjoying doing it! Only a kid would kiss a window!

Taken 12-25-04. Somebody got something good for Christmas! Can you see the laugh about to burst out of those pursed lips!

Last but not least, since he inspired me to look back and be sure to remember, here's one for the birthday boy! Fly Adam Fly!
