Our Cabin Vacation

Our summer vacation began June 18th.  After I was finally done with work, we left for our cabin.  We stayed there until Sunday morning at 6:30 am.  During our time in our Ohio cabin, we played volleyball, badminton, baseball, and flew kites.  We also made time for some swimming and critter catching in the creek.  We also discovered a nest of baby birds on our porch that were being tended to by their mother and father!  So cute.  Here are photos from the first cabin we hit on our vacation.

As I mentioned before, we left on Sunday at 6:30 am from our Ohio cabin and went to Gatlinburg, TN. We rented a cabin there with Jack's sister Kim, her husband, Bob, their daughter Bridget and her best friend. Needless to say, we ended up with some other relatives before we left on Wednesday morning because they didn't rent through Wednesday and had such a good time they wanted to stay an extra day. While in Gatlinburg, the kids all got to go to a cavern, the girls went horseback riding, we all went whitewater rafting, and Jack and I got to go on a mountain motor tour. We had an absolute blast. So much fun, that I forgot to charge both cameras and don't have even one photo to prove we were actually there. The kids had so much fun with their cousins and other relatives. Believe it or not there were 40 family members there and we still managed a few moments for just the 5 of us at times, and Jack and I managed to steal a few moments on our own as well.

On Wednesday morning, we headed back to our Ohio cabin. Jack's brother Jeff and his wife, Ingrid, and daughter, Grace met us there. We had a night of rest and fireworks and good food.

Grace decided to stay with us Thursday night and the kids were so glad to have her stay with us. More badminton, baseball, volleyball, catching lightening bugs, and MORE fireworks. Here are the photos from Thursday. Enjoy.



Now that the hustle and bustle of getting ready for and going on vacation is over, I plan to get back to shooting photos and posting much more often!
